MISSION
The mission of the Envision Mental Health Task Force is to sustain an endowment fund that will provide ongoing, flexible, and innovative funding to bridge service gaps and ensure a full continuum of mental health services for persons located in the Dubuque area.
Everyone is affected, either directly or indirectly, by mental illness. Too often, prevention and treatment is inaccessible. Too often, access to services is limited by funding restrictions. This leaves a substantial number of our most vulnerable citizens without adequate supports.
VALUES
ACCESSIBILITY: All people in the Dubuque area who are dealing with mental health challenges should be able to access a full continuum of quality services. This includes: inpatient, outpatient, community based and peer support services.
FLEXIBILITY: Services need to be tailored to fit the individual’s needs instead of requiring the individual to fit the service delivery system.
COLLABORATION: It is essential that service agencies and advocates work cooperatively to identify mental health issues present in the community and develop solutions.
QUALITY: All individuals in the Dubuque area should receive appropriate, flexible, uncompromised mental health care that improves their quality of life.
DIGNITY: All persons need to be treated with dignity and respect when receiving mental health services. Our goal is to eliminate the stigma that is too often present.
